Who is it for?
Group Triple P is a very thorough method of delivery used for prevention and/or management of behavioral problems. It is recommended for two different types of parenting situations. The first is for parents of children with significant or multiple behavioral difficulties that are often displayed in more than one setting – for example at home, school, sport clubs or with friends. Second, it is also for motivated parents interested in gaining a more in-depth understanding of positive parenting. It is available for parents of children from birth to 12 years. Parents reading below 4th grade reading level are encouraged to request individual or small group sessions.
~~How Level 4 Works?
Usually consists of 5 group sessions and three telephone support calls. Groups of around 12 parents attend face-to-face sessions over a period of 8 weeks. The first 4 sessions help parents understand Triple P strategies through observation, discussion, practice and feedback. Each session lasts for up to three hours. Training is very interactive and utilizes several approaches to ensure parents fully grasp the positive parenting strategies. Parents will also receive the Every Parent's Group Workbook, which outlines each session and allows you to record your progress. After the initial four sessions, parents have around three weeks to practice the strategies at home. During this time parents receive three personal support phone calls from their parent coach. These calls are a chance to review any strategies the parent may be having difficulties with. There is also a final group session for review and to evaluate progress. Level 4 Group Triple P gives you the support to help you manage your child's behavior and prevent the kinds of problems that make your family life stressful. Level 4 Individual Triple P offers the same kind of support in one-on-one sessions, with just you and an Accredited Triple P trained parent coach.
